International Tax - Summer Associate (Remote)

As a Summer Associate Intern, you’ll gain insight into how we create and execute on many challenges that come with being one of top retailers in the U.S. This experiential internship opportunity will give you access to develop industry-related knowledge and skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees, and explore various career paths.

Best Buy has a rare opportunity for an international associate to join the world-class Best Buy tax department focusing on international tax. The associate position will offer a variety of work that will allow you to leverage accounting course work experience and to take on new challenges and opportunities. The International Associate is responsible for supporting the team in gathering and organizing data in preparation of the U.S. international income tax forms and schedules. The Best Buy Tax team is responsible for analyzing, preparing, and filing various corporate tax returns and business filings.
 
The International Tax Summer intern will provide support across the entire Tax team. Responsibilities will include:
  • Support preparation of U.S. international income tax compliance forms and schedules
  • Assist in driving a continuous improvement mindset to drive efficiencies in the tax compliance reporting processes
  • Assist in tax audits by gathering and organizing information
  • Manage weekly working hours and productivity in a flexible work environment
  • Provide support to Program Manager as needed  
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating between Fall 2022 and Spring 2025
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Detail-oriented
  • Initiative
  • Organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Pursuing an Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or MIS
