Emergency Preparedness Intern

Emergency Preparedness Intern will serve as an associate in the emergency preparedness department, supporting and/or executing all activities related to emergency preparedness and response to emergency events affecting the electric distribution system. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-confident, energetic, detail oriented, customer-focused, and passionate about facilitating improvements in our emergency preparedness capabilities. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Support development, review and revision of plans, procedures, process descriptions, job descriptions, job aids, task lists

Support and/ or facilitate training sessions

Support and/ or facilitate development, conduct, and evaluation of discussion-based and operations-based exercises, following HSEEP guidelines, along with development of After Action Reviews and tracking Improvement Action Items

Support post-event reporting, including report drafting, review and revisions

Candidate should be enrolled in an associate, bachelor, or master-level degree program in emergency management, homeland security, or similar course of study.

Student must provide own transportation.

On office days (if any) appropriate attire is business casual. Most days will likely be working remote.

**Ideal candidate can start ASAP and work thru March.**

Emergency Response:
Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
