Data Science - IT Intern

Key Responsibilities
  • The Data Science Interns will collect and analyze data to help make better business decisions.
  • Collecting data by analyzing business results or by establishing and managing new studies
  • Transferring data into a new format to make it more appropriate for analysis
  • Creating new, experimental frameworks to collect data
  • Building tools to automate data collection
  • Searching through large data sets for usable information
  • Creating reports and presentations for business use cases
  • Correlating similar data to find actionable results
  • Organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures
  • Performing statistical analysis of data
  • Proficient in using Google Sheets
  • Using tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
  • Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns
  • Preparing reports and dashboards to present to management
  • Identifying and recommending new ways to save money by streamlining business processes
  • Monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate should be working toward their degree in a quantitative field of mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, statistics, operations research, quantitative social science, etc.).
  • Basic Knowledge on software development principles and architecture.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to break down and understand business problems, define a solution, and make recommendations to implement it using advanced quantitative methods.
  • Familiarity with programming for data analysis; ideally Python, SQL, or R.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills, especially around analytical concepts, and methods.
  • Great work ethic and intellectual curiosity.
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS or Google Knowledge of any relational database such as My SQL or Microsoft SQL.
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills and have experience working with customers across types: full time, contract.
