B-52 Modernization Systems Engineer Level 3 (00000278320)

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a B-52 Modernization Systems Engineer. 

This Level 3 position is located in Oklahoma City to support Bomber Avionics Systems Integration within the Bombers and Fighters division. This position will involve solving problems of hardware/software throughout product life-cycle.  Emphasis is on software/hardware modification and integration onto the platform through requirements development, design reviews, laboratory integration, data analysis, ground and flight testing.

Position Responsibilities
Duties will include but not limited to:
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex life-cycle balanced system.
  • Management of baseline; cost, schedule and technical to meet key program milestones.
  • Perform analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties into a preferred configuration to ensure B-52 mission success.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain Secret Clearance post start
  • Avionics Experience
  • 5+ years Experience with Systems Engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with Military or Aerospace customers.
  • B-52 Experience
  • Experience managing project cost, schedule, technical and operational objectives
  • Integration experience with Avionics

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
