Associate Systems Engineer - Modeling & Simulation Level 2 (00000287957 )

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an experienced Associate Systems Engineer - Modeling & Simulation (Level 2) to support Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) activities for future and current AEW&C programs in Oklahoma City, OK. This position within the SEIT organization will use Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodology and system modeling tools to enable a digital framework for Boeing enterprise to perform design, manage the System Architecture Models, Business process models including interfaces, key performance parameters, and operational concepts.

As a member of the ASC2 team, you will be responsible for modeling of end to end system and business activities using MBSE methodology.  Additionally, you will be responsible for designing, developing, verifying, testing and validating system models and simulations.
A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with cross functional engineering teams and leadership.
This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Deploy Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology
  • Provide MBSE/CAMEO/SysML/DOORs expertise and related support to the entire systems engineering team
  • Integrate models to modern requirements management, architecture, and systems engineering software
  • Proficient in performing functional and logical decomposition of system and develop requirements, perform three way mapping of requirements, functions and logical elements.
  • Participate in converting document-based to model-based architectures, refactoring of existing models
  • Proficient in the use of multiple architecture frameworks, tools, and methodologies
  • Ability to identify and implement model-based architecture and engineering methods and standards
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, functional requirements and non-functional requirements.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of tools, risk, issues, opportunity management processes.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is require.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience in Systems Engineering and Modeling Based Tools
  • 1+ years of experience with design integration and architecture.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in Functional Requirement Decomposition & Modeling
  • Experience in MBSE and CAMEO toolsets
  • Experience with SysML & DOORs toolsets
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Systems Engineering (6k) or Mission Systems Domain (6B/6J)

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
