Job Description: Mechanical Design Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and develop custom seal ring solutions for aerospace, power generation, and critical fluid leakage control applications. Create detailed engineering drawings utilizing Inventor CAD software.
• Perform engineering analysis including: tolerance stack-up, thermal growth, and installation stress evaluation.
• Effectively communicate with customers, translating their application requirements into a cost effective seal ring product.
• Review customer ring designs for feasibility and manufacturability. Interpret specifications, and ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are met.
• Design and create engineering drawings for tooling, outside supplier processes, or manufacturing fixtures as required.
• Continuously improve manufacturing processes, researching and utilizing new technologies such as 3D printing.
Must Have the Following Skills and Requirements:
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Proven ability to work with 3D CAD design and drawing software
• Demonstrate a high attention to detail
• Strong customer interface skills
• Sound technical knowledge of machined part design and dimensioning
• Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to display a positive attitude and possess a strong work ethic
• Good computer proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Skills:
• Familiar with detailed engineering and quality specifications
• Experience working with component parts for the aerospace industry
• Experience with Inventor CAD software
• Familiar with drawing standards, including geometric tolerances
• Experience with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
