This role falls under Aon’s early career development program, known as Launch. Building on the development colleagues receive in the role they are hired into; the Launch program is a supplemental development program for recent college recruits.

Your Impact As An Actuarial Analyst

Employer-sponsored health and welfare benefit programs form the foundation of the U.S. health care system. These programs have evolved over time as employers have attempted to manage the changing needs of employees, rising program costs, and the impact of new legislation while supporting their human resource and business strategies. 
 
Aon is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to serve clients within our private healthcare exchange, the Aon Active Health Exchange (AAHE). The AAHE is growing, and it is an exciting time to be part of the team dedicated to serving our clients and partners within this industry leading solution. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about actuarial work. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Exchanges business group within Aon. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate plan design and costs relative to various measures and benchmarks with reporting to clients
  • Data collection and review: feasibility studies; annual RFP process
  • Analyze insured plan renewals for appropriateness and carrier bid financial evaluations
  • Health care budget rate-setting for self-insured plans including the analysis of medical plan design and provider network changes
  • Employee contribution rate development and scenario analysis
  • Calculate actuarial reserves
  • Participation in Health & Benefits practice sponsored and external training, to grow consulting acumen
  • Manages priorities, communicates potential delays, and delivers results on time
  • Financial modeling (including quality review) of medical and dental quoted rates vs. self-insured projections

 Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics & Business, or related fields.
  • Has passed at least one actuarial exam, preferred.
Applicants for this role, which is part of the Launch program, will need to graduate between December 2021 – June 2022 and have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
