S8G Prototype Electrical Engineer

Prototype Engineering (PE) provides the Kesselring Site with quality engineering products to support the maintenance and operations needs of the prototypes. These products help to ensure the successful and timely completion of planned maintenance shutdowns and to guide a prompt and effective resolution of emergent issues that impact the ability of the plant to meet training or testing objectives. PE also serves as the technical conscience for the Site by continuously driving to ensure the prototypes are maintained and operated to appropriate standards, and that decisions are based on appropriate technical evaluation.

The S8G Prototype Electrical Engineering Unit provides engineering support for the prototype's in-hull instrumentation and control and off-hull safety electrical systems and components. The successful candidate for this position will perform engineering evaluations and analyses, and make engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks. Specific duties may include planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting and testing of electrical components and systems. The engineer may also provide support for design reviews, plant operations, safety analyses, engineering methods development and analysis of vendor's procedures and systems for quality control or manufacturing surveillance.
