Environmental Health and Safety Summer Intern

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Infrastructure, Safety; Environment & Engineering (ISEE) department located at our Ridgefield Connecticut facility. As an Intern, you will assist the Environmental Health Safety and Security (EHS&S) group in the planning and implementation of safety and health, environmental, and security programs to meet regulatory and corporate requirements for site activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Understanding regulatory, safety, and security risks in a research and development environment and mitigating these risks to an acceptable level.
  • Provide Wastewater, Waste, and Air compliance program support.
  • Provide Industrial Hygiene, General Safety and Occupational Safety program support.
Requirements:
Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
Major must be related to the field of internship.
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of environmental health and safety management.
  • Ability to work effectively as a sole contributor and on teams with minimal supervision.
Eligibility Requirements:
 
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
