Summary
The UX - Usability Specialist serves as a UX generalist, focusing on areas of healthcare IT usability. As a member of the eCW Usability team, you will be responsible for designing and conducting user research and identifying the best method based on research goals. The Specialist is responsible for all aspects of research (planning, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting) for both generative (participatory design) and evaluative (usability testing) research. You will be using a variety of user testing methodologies to reveal actionable user insights. You should also be comfortable working with data, from gathering and analysis through to design and presentation.  

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  
  • Conduct and manage User Experience studies and projects 
  • Consult with the development team throughout the process of implementing UX improvements 
  • Work closely with the product management and patient safety team to identify research projects 
  • Participate in recruitment activity for user research  
  • Promoting user-centered design principles and best practices across the organization. 
  • Working with data, from gathering and analysis through to design and presentation. 
  • Constructing insights gained from user research into formats to enhance organizational understanding of our users – such as personas and user journey maps 
  • Travel to User sites to study and report back on UX improvements  

Requirements 
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering Psychology, Human Factors, User Centered Design, User Experience, or a related field. 
  • In-depth understanding of human factors, and user-centered design processes 
  • 2 - 3 years of hands-on experience performing usability studies in the healthcare industry. 
  • 2 - 3 years of experience with qualitative and user-centered design methodologies 
  • Working knowledge of quantitative research, behavioral analysis, and statistics 

Preferred Requirements
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
