Our Beauty Technology Development organization, located in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a passionate, driven and collaborative learner who is motivated to unlock breakthrough skin aging insights that can be translated into technical problems and models in order to identify new molecules for our global Olay and SK-II businesses.
 
The student is expected to network with key collaborators and capability owners to quickly learn and perform application work, demonstrating implementation skills leveraging knowledge that moves the project forward. As business leaders, we look to apply knowledge to relevant consumer issues as well as move progress forward with urgency. Leveraging what we know with institutional knowledge is key to minimizing resource drain, but the ability to bring fresh thinking, capabilities and approaches is desired to unlock new innovation and growth for the business.
 
This successful candidate will guide and influence technical project direction and identify new opportunities for future innovation. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a clear ability to convert their technical mastery into potential business building assets, insights and solutions.
 
This candidate may also have potential for external impact via publication co-authorship as well as global networking across the academic domain as well as internally.
 
Job Qualifications
 
Education:
    * We are seeking an intern PhD Candidate, studying a BioSciences related STEM field including Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Bio-Medical Engineering etc.
 
Key skillsets to be successful include:
    * Technical Mastery in method development and optimization of in-vitro 2D cellular and 3D tissue culture systems. Having human keratinocyte culture capability as well as previous experience in Skin Science or the Beauty industry are a plus!
    * Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and partner with others to deliver results on aggressive timelines. Written and oral communication skills are essential to summarize and share insights in an engaging, technically sound way that can influence the business and/or external audiences.
    * Creative mindset to translate new discoveries in the molecular and cellular biology fields into strategic new capabilities and analysis techniques that strengthens screening models for technology ID and new skin science discoveries.
    * Technical and business curiosity with an eye to industrial application. Being able to integrate multiple sources of data to enable a new skin discovery which could lead to a technical solution that can connect to a consumer articulated problem
    * Ability to effectively collaborate and integrate into a diverse team comprised of multiple disciplines across geographies globally.
    * Ability to translate data into actionable insights, and use them to influence technical discussion and make recommendations. Thinking outside the box to ignite new ideas with a growth mindset.
    * The ability to operate with discipline by learning quickly and adapting to changing environments and business needs.
