Research and Insights Intern (Remote-US)
About the Role
Design and Research at HashiCorp is largely a remote team, so we are looking for team members who perform well with independence and autonomy.
As a Research Intern at HashiCorp, you’ll support the Research & Insights Team and our Design peers to learn about our users, their needs, and their behaviors. You’ll contribute to research framing, planning, facilitation and synthesis of research to develop useful insights for our teams.
In this role, you can expect to...
- Learn how the research process fits into the product development process, by utilizing a variety of research methods to uncover human needs
- Contribute to user research with devops technologists around the world
- Present insights and promote human-centered design decisions
- Get to know how our partners work, including design, product management, and engineering
- Receive mentorship on any areas of growth you’re looking for, and share your own expertise in areas of strength you bring to the team

You may be a good fit for our team if you...
- Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in HCI, Design, Computer Science, Engineering, Anthropology, Psychology or equivalent training in the United States and returning back to school following completion of this internship.
- Have a research portfolio with case studies and/or student projects
- Are comfortable working with highly technical team members and end users alike
- Have familiarity with or interest in open source communities, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or developer tooling
- Familiar with user research methods (remote user testing, survey research, usability testing, field research)
- Have experience with data visualization
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- A growth mindset with a persistent curiosity
