Web Services Coordinator Internship

The IU School of Medicine Office of Gift Development and Alumni Relations is hiring for a part-time web coordinator. The position will help redevelop its website as well as assist with electronic communications utilizing Salesforce Marketing Cloud and ThankView.

Overview

Performs routine maintenance and updates existing web pages, while ensuring up-to-date industry standards, university standards, and accessibility standards. Works within a content management system to create, make updates, and revise university web pages to include up-to-date information, appropriate functionality, and adherence to university design and accessibility standards. Maintains documentation and develops reports on web activity. Troubleshoots issues with web pages and coordinates to fix problems.

Fundamental Responsilbilities

Performs routine maintenance and updates existing web pages, while ensuring up-to-date industry standards, university standards, and accessibility standards.

Works within a content management system to create, make updates, and revise university web pages to include up-to-date information, appropriate functionality, and adherence to university design and accessibility standards.

Maintains documentation and develops reports on web activity.

Troubleshoots issues with web pages and coordinates to fix problems.

Assists in preparing, formatting, and editing images and documents for web pages.

Performs web testing and quality assurance to ensure content is accurate, linking is correct, browser compatibility, etc.

Additional Opportunities

This role will have the opportunity to utilize Salesforce Marketing Cloud and ThankView.

Duties within Salesforce Marketing Cloud may include drafting and sending mass e-mails to alumni and donors of IU School of Medicine. Depending on comfort within Marketing Cloud, duties may include managing the electronic alumni and donor newsletter.

Within ThankView, this position may draft and send e-mails to alumni and donors. Types of e-mails would include special video greetings and endowment reports for donors.

Learning Outcomes

The student who fills this position should expect to grow more comfortable working in a professional office environment.

Additionally, the student will become proficient in SiteCore, our web platform, and will have the opportunity to grow in Marketing Cloud by receiving training provided by IU Studios.

Finally, the student will learn ThankView, a leading donor engagement platform.

Other details

The job will average about 15-20 hours per week with a max of 900 hours in a year. The schedule is flexible and may include remote work. The start date is flexible as well.
