General Purpose of Position:
In this position, students will expand on their knowledge in various forms of communication. This includes active listening skills and relationship building that fosters effective oral and written communication. Improving persuasion skills through innovation and creativity during grant writing. Additionally, in person and virtual communication will be utilized when building relationships with other individuals, donors, and organizations. The purpose of the position is to assist the Development Director in the identification and upkeep of the database foundations and corporate partners. This individual will also assist in writing Letter of Intent and initial grant writing.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
● Finding grant opportunities
● Grant writing
● Developing relationships with local businesses
● Making calls to existing or previous donors, sending emails to donors
● Assisting the president in fundraising activities
Qualifications:
Written and verbal communication
Experience in foundation research
Proposal composition
Team Player
Maintain professional demeanor between peers and partners
Ability to communicate formally with management and outside partners
Reliable
