Public Programs Intern
The Public Programs Intern will report to the Public Programs Manager, working with education and programming staff to assist with planning, implementing and evaluating in-person and virtual programs for a variety of audiences (adult, family, school, etc.).
Projects may include:
· Assisting to transition the museum’s largest community-led celebration, Día de Muertos, into a hybrid (in-person and virtual/digital) experience
· Researching and assisting in the develop of public programs, educational resources and guide training materials related to the Native American gallery reinstallation
(opening Spring 2022)
· Building on current accessibility and inclusion-related initiatives to make the museum a welcoming space for all visitors
o Assisting to closed caption digital resources
o Assisting in the implementation and evaluation of programming for targeted audiences like Sensory Friendly Days, Early Stage Alzheimer’s programming, etc.
o Researching potential community partnerships to further the museum’s goal of access and inclusion
· Work across departments to provide broader access to the museum’s digital educational resources
