Engineering Research Intern
The Engineering Research Intern will conduct research on engineering operations throughout various counties and municipalities and provide a summary of these findings to The Allen County Board of Commissions and supporting departments.
- Intern will work approximately 10-15 hours/week
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work with County departments to understand current construction and maintenance operations of County roads, bridges, drainage and related engineering functions.
- Compile a list of comparable municipalities and counties to survey based on population size.
- Establish an outline of survey data to collect from comparable municipalities and counties.
- Compile survey data, summarize findings and prepare a report and presentation of findings to present to The Board of Commissioners and supporting departments.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Pursuing a degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, construction management, public affairs or a similar field
- Familiar with common building, land surveying and civil engineering terminology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Report writing and presentation skills
