CEA Program: Research Assistant

Overview of department:
The Department of Cariology, Operative Dentistry and Dental Public Health at IU School of Dentistry is housed at the Indianapolis campus. Our mission is to build on Indiana’s long-standing history of leadership in the areas of cariology and preventive, operative, and community dentistry. We strive to improve the oral health of the citizens of Indiana, the nation, and the world.

Project summary:
The goal of this project is to develop a learning module that can be used to educate dental providers about HPV and its association with oropharyngeal cancers; risk factors for HPV related oropharyngeal cancers, HPV vaccination and dental provider’s role in improving HPV vaccination including referrals, and examples of vaccination administration in different settings.

Specific tasks that the community engagement associate will complete: 
Duties of the position typically include the following:

Developing content for the modules, designing the learning modules, help with data collection, recruitment of participants in the community, analysis and dissemination of the results.

Specific qualifications (knowledge, skills, class standing, etc) we desire the project coordinator to have:
Background in Public Health, Dentistry and some interest in statistics
