Position Overview
Under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), the Social Worker Designee participates in assessment of the needs of patients and families. The position also provides the patients and families with emotional and resources support. The Social Worker Designee participates in providing counseling regarding the dying process.
Requirements for Social Worker Designee positions
- Completing Master’s from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
- Successful completion of LSW (License Social Work) exam certification within six months of accepting position
- In process of completing the Licensed Social Worker exam (LSW)
- Minimum of one clinical internship experience, preferably in an acute care or hospice setting
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and maintain a calming, professional presence in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Ability to maintain organizational confidentiality, which includes but is not limited to information about patients/families, volunteers, employees, donors and Agency processes
- Communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, patient database, e-mail), voicemail
- Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, preferred
