Part-Time Project Manager Coordinator

A. PRIMARY ROLE
The Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) seeks a Part-Time Project Manager Coordinator. The Part-Time Project Manager Coordinator manages project workflow, and assists in daily support of assigned projects, ensuring that projects go smoothly and meet deadlines. As a Project Manager Coordinator, this individual serves as an assistant to the GME Process Improvement – Project Manager.

This role serves supports the mission, goals, and business objectives of the GME Office and supports related activities of the IU School of Medicine (IUSM). This involves managing and planning projects which ensure IUSM residents and fellows are engaging in clinical learning environments, prepared for future healthcare responsibilities, demonstrating measurable excellence in educational and clinical care, and are aligned with the goals and priorities of our local and statewide hospital affiliates.

Fundamental responsibilities include:
•     Coordinates support for project management activities, resource allocation, and communication.
•     Develops schedules designed to meet deadlines and communicates with team members.
•     Monitors project progress and handles moderately complex issues that arise.
•     Ensures projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
•     Manage projects by utilizing project management methodologies, creating reports as directed, and delivering presentations to stakeholders.
•     Assists with continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of GME work.
•     Assists with data analysis, visualization, and management as needed.
•     Provides light administrative and finance support as needed.
 
B.   QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
Minimum education: BS/BA required. An educational focus in business administration, management, health care, economics, computer science, math or statistics is preferred. Demonstrated project management, time management, and priority setting skills. Proficient communication, collaboration, team-building, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency or expertise in the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Windows. Zoom/Microsoft Teams/other video conferencing software.

Preferred Qualifications:
Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) and one to two years of demonstrated experience using process improvement methodologies. One to two years of relevant project management experience.

Proficiency in the following programs: Microsoft Power BI or Tableau; Microsoft Project, Access, and Visio; Visual Media and Adobe Photoshop.

G. Work Conditions/Demands
Up to 20-24 hours per week. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work will be necessary.

Potential for part-time to full-time hire.

This job includes prolonged use of computer, repetitive activities, time pressure, and potential for some stress with multi-tasking and meeting all deadlines. Periodic travel across campus or other campuses for project related meetings are required.
