Note that all work can be completed remotely for the time being until The Polis Center resumes an in-office work schedule in August. Pay is $10.50-$12.00 per hour.
In this role, you will help us develop Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plans for various Indiana counties. The work involves GIS analysis, map making, and report writing.
You will be responsible for:
- Creating maps in ArcGIS Pro software
- Performing analysis using ArcGIS Pro, Hazus, and Aloha software
- Managing (organizing, storing, and processing) spatial datasets
- Writing reports from templates
Qualifications:
- Ability to be organized in a complex process with many overlapping tasks
- Excellent writing skills
- Experience with GIS (geographic information systems), preferably ArcGIS Pro
- Solid Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) skills
The ideal candidate:
- Has coursework in GIS
- Has experience creating maps and performing analysis in ArcGIS Pro
- Is detail-oriented
- Is a good communicator
Bonus qualifications:
- Interest in emergency management or disaster mitigation
