Software Engineering Intern

Company Overview:
The Bee Corp is a benefit corporation that applies data analytics to beekeeping. Our mission is to empower growers and beekeepers by delivering insights into beehive health. The Bee Corp pursues this mission by offering growers infrared inspection technology to measure pollination value and drive decisions to protect yield.

Position Summary:
The Bee Corp is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to help improve and scale our existing software and implement automated Integration/UI tests. Beekeeping and infrared knowledge are not required. Candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently and on teams, and communicate complex ideas with other employees and work in a team environment. Our office is in Indianapolis, IN, but the position will be remote until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The intern will work up to 20+ hours per week, depending on availability, from July to the end of the Fall Semester at $15 per hour. Internship extensions and full-time opportunities are available and will be evaluated during the internship. Due to grant restrictions on this position, we can only hire U.S. citizens for this role.

Position Responsibilities:
·       Cross-Platform Mobile Development
·       Web Development
·       Implement Automated UI/Integration Tests

Qualifications:
·       Current Data Science (or similar field) undergraduate student
OR a full-time or part-time community college, undergrad or graduate student with veteran status
·       Experience working with Java and JavaScript required
·       Experience with Swift and other languages and frameworks are a plus
·       Experience with Android development, iOS development, React, and/or React-Native desired. This could include projects, internships, or relevant coursework.
