Validation Dynamics Engineer Intern
This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment.
Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Validation Dynamics Engineer Intern. This position is responsible for executing Dynamics test activities within the Validation Engineering team. This includes fixture design, product testing per a test plan, responsible for an accurate test set-up, data collection, and data reporting.
Responsibilities
· Design and procure test fixtures for vibration/shock testing
· Work with electrodynamic vibration shakers and control systems
· Diagnose equipment issues and assist with repair/maintenance
· Responsible for requirements analysis to develop dynamics test procedures and profiles.
· Review and evaluate customer specifications for new test requirements
· Assist program teams when evaluating product issues and corrective actions
· Assist technician with test setup issues and/or new setup procedures
· Acquire/analyze accelerometer data using shaker control system/data acquisition system
· Support audible noise testing and noise source evaluations
· Review test report/information for compliance with requirements
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)
·Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology
· Experience with Siemens NX (Unigraphics) and ANSYS Finite Element Analysis
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
· Experience working in a dynamics lab environment
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· Strong capabilities in communication, organization, and multitasking
· Knowledge/experience using data acquisition equipment and data analysis for test profile development
· Experience with noise measurement equipment and testing
· Coursework in vehicle dynamics or demonstrated vehicle interest
