Technology Services Trainer

Applicants must be eligible Federal Work Study IUPUI Students. 

Position Summary
University Library Technology Services Trainer (TST) provides tier 2 technology support during late evening and weekend hours when full time staff are off duty, typically from 7 pm - midnight Mon - Thru, and all day Fri/Sat/Sun.

The CST Technology Services Trainer duties & responsibilities: 
Create in-depth orientation materials for CST new employees.
Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including; classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.
Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness, then track and report on training outcomes.
Identify areas of training that will help to improve overall job specific knowledge for all student employees. 
Will work with student employees and CST full-time staff to develop training materials and resources to be used by Technology Services Consultants (TSC) as well as patrons and other staff. 
Revise previous documentation about policies and training to better guide TSCs.
Facilitate training, prepare documentation, and participate in special projects. 
Mentor TSCs on technical issues. 
Provide support to TSCs for Tier 2 support and patron issues. 
Assist CST full-time staff with current support issues that occur at the Technology Services Desk or event rooms. 
Demonstrate exemplary interpersonal communication skills and professionalism. 
Assist students/faculty/staff with multimedia projects which incorporate video and audio editing, photo and graphics editing, and Adobe Creative Suite applications.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE GAINED IN THIS ROLE
Student will gain a more in-depth understanding of IT support at an administrative level. They will gain hands on experience working in an IT environment, and will be involved in work that includes:
Creating in depth orientation materials for new student employees.
Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.
Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness, track and report on training outcomes.
Identify areas of training that will help to improve overall job specific knowledge for student employees. 
Student employees will gain experience working directly with student employees with various levels of technical knowledge, while providing quality service and solutions.
