K-12 Education Partnerships Assistant

Our office: The Indiana University Office of School Partnerships (OSP) supports the P-12 education eco-system in the State of Indiana by fostering collaboration between the IU campuses, Hoosier educators and policy-makers. The office seeks build meaningful, sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships that advance P-12 student success by leveraging resources and the collective expertise of everyone involved. Indiana University is committed to creating educational pathways into highly skilled jobs, particularly for low-income, first-generation, and minority students.

The position: The Education Partnerships Assistant will be part of a cohort of students across the IU campuses who are gathering information about how faculty, staff and students are working to improve P-12 education through courses, research, programs and initiatives in the state of Indiana. The assistants will work with Kristin Norris, Associate Director of the Office of School Partnerships and the Collaboratory administrators at the IU campuses.

Students may choose to work remotely or an on-campus work station (see addresses for the offices of on-campus work stations). Regular communications with your supervisor, Kristin Norris, and the Collaboratory administrators will be remote. Students may remain in the position as long as they are enrolled in classes at an IU campus, including summer if the student takes at least 3 credit hours and meets eligibility requirements (work study, minimum GPA).

Students will be assigned tasks through a common project management software system, attend meetings with faculty/staff across the IU campuses via Zoom, and will be responsible for data entry into Collaboratory.

  • Organization skills
  • Accuracy and timeliness in communication pieces such as email
  • Attention to detail to ensure clean data entry
  • Enrolled at an IU campus
  • Minimum GPA 2.0
  • Understand how to use Microsoft Office products including calendar (Scheduling Assistant) and Excel.
 
This position is ideal for a student interested in advancing their project management, communication and analytical skills. Students will gain a unique perspective of how higher education, including all of the IU campuses, are a strategic partner and contributor to the community, educational achievement, access to higher education and talent development.

Learning Outcomes:
Students will learn how to interpret information, data cleaning, data visualization, and how to communicate information to key stakeholders.
