Day Report Case Manager

The Day Report Case Manager assists clients by addressing their needs to ensure they attend all court hearings and are not re-arrested during the pretrial phase of court. This includes referring them to appropriate community resources, drug and alcohol screening, updating the court with written reports on the client’s progress, and developing collaborative relationships with community service providers.

  • Maintain and monitor day report clients with duties to include drug screening, alcohol breath testing, referrals to community resources, and assisting the client in addressing needs to reduce the risk of pretrial misconduct and/or recidivism
  • Cross-train to work with pretrial clients, as needed
  • Developing knowledge and collaborative relationships with various community service providers
  • Preparing written reports notifying the court or other system stakeholders of the client’s status
  • Maintaining accurate and verified records that document and support activity necessary to meet the program outcomes
  • Perform observed urine drug/alcohol screens of male program participants. For observed urine collection, collector must be the same gender as the client providing the sample
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director
 
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or concurrent higher education enrollment in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related human service field required
  • Computer literacy including working knowledge and experience of Windows and word processing, as well as data entry experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of skill in organization and attention to detail and accuracy as well as ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • The ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals from diverse economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and automobile with insurance required
  • Pre-employment background check, conducted by the Portage County Sheriff’s department may be required
  • Perform observed urine drug/alcohol screens on male clients (collector must be the same gender as the client providing the sample)

POSITION TERMS
  • Permanent part-time (20 hours/week, no benefits) $16-17/hour based on experience
  • Primarily morning hours (8am-11:00am) and some weekends
  • Reports to Program Director
  • Agreement to abide by and subscribe to the mission, vision, and culture of JusticePoint
