Backup Kitchen Assistant/Classroom Assistant
Work Study Required. This is a part time position Monday thru Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The job provides backup support to our kitchen coordinator and/or backup support for the classroom staff for planned absences.
For backup support for kitchen coordinator , the job requires receiving the vendor prepared food and dishing up the appropriate servings for lunch, morning and afternoon snacks and delivering to each classroom. The duties also include operating dishwasher for lunch dishes, cleaning off lunch carts and cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen area.
For backup support in the classroom, the assistant will work with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Classroom duties include observing and supervising children’s activities, communicating openly and positively with children at their level, assisting lead teacher in the execution of lesson plans for the day for indoor and outdoor classrooms, ensuring the safety and well being of children and assisting with serving daily meals and snacks to children.
