Patient Ambassador

The Indiana University School of Dentistry has been advancing oral health in the state and beyond since 1879, when it was founded as the Indiana Dental College. Over the past 140 years, we’ve become a national leader in preparing oral health professionals, conducting innovative research that has an impact on patients and the profession, and providing patient-centered care.

Position Information:
The Patient Ambassador will be the first person a patient meets when they walk into the school of Dentistry. Some of the items that an ambassador would do include:
-Answering patient questions
-Providing wheelchairs
-Giving directions to appointment
-Parking Validation
-Escorting patients to their appointments
-Assisting new patients with their paperwork

Work Environment:
This position is in a busy clinical front desk setting. Patients arrive during all business hours with questions and appointments. Ambassadors will spend the majority of time talking with patients.

Physical Demands:
Majority of shift spent in a stationary position in the front desk area. May include some light lifting or pushing of supplies or wheelchairs. Must be able to operate a computer and telephone. Must be able to communicate with patients in a positive manner.
