ABOUT
The Indiana CTSI K-12 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program aims to develop a pipeline of future scientists through the support of several summer research programs for high school students and teachers. We seek students who are motivated to learn new skills and are motivated to help other students be successful.

RESPONSIBILTIES
The undergraduate students serving the Indiana CTSI K-12 STEM Program will facilitate the recruitment of high school students into the various research and mentorship opportunities and facilitate their participation. Duties include but are not limited to serving as a panelist on zoom interviews, scheduling the interviews via email, making phone calls and ensuring that all students complete their required documents.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Through the participation in this program, students will learn various skills in these categories:
Communication – Students will learn how to be better communicators by building relationships with other team members, industry partners, and university faculty and staff affiliated with the program. Individuals in this position will improve their active listening skills by interacting with and assisting high school students learn of opportunities available for them in STEM careers.
Public Relations - Students will be trained on interacting with a wide variety of STEM professionals, educators and high school students from various backgrounds.  
Software skills and online technologies - Through the participation in this program students will learn how to use unique formulas and filters in Excel, mail merges and other functions in Microsoft Word, and how to create effective PowerPoint presentations. Students will also be trained on how to use full functionality of the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), All the full functionality settings of Zoom, and how to upload and organize videos in Kaltura.
Community Partnerships - Through participation in numerous meetings with program partners, students will learn the principals of creating partnerships within the STEM community of industry professional and university faculty.
