Job Summary:

The Columbus Municipal Airport (BAK) is seeking an Airport Management Intern for the summer of 2021. The Airport is located just 35 miles south of Indianapolis, IN and has over 65 tenant businesses, 72 based aircraft, and over 50,000 annual aircraft operations. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of airport management tasks and functions, including:
·        Management (budgeting, capital improvement planning, client relations)
·        Operations (airfield safety, emergency planning and response, airport construction safety)
·        Maintenance
·        Marketing, Community Outreach, Tenant Relations, and Special Events
·        Real Estate and Leasing 

Essential Duties:

Specific work task assignments might include: participating in the annual budget development and review process; assisting with updating the airport's based aircraft census; updating the airport website including the business directory and social media; working with airport maintenance personnel to understand common tasks such as mowing operations, airfield lighting maintenance; hangar maintenance, etc.; learning aviation radio, airfield access, and airport driving procedures; developing a table-top exercise and review of the Airport Emergency Plan; and assisting in planning for various airport hosted events.


Qualifications:
·        Must be enrolled in an airport/aviation management degree program
·        Minimum 12-week commitment with availability to start in May
·        Must be able to work 32-40 hours a week
·        Valid Driver’s license and good driving record and able to drive and be insured as employee while driving at all times

Additional / Desirable:
·        Aviation experience (e.g., FBO line service or customer service experience, flight training experience, or airport management experience)
