We are looking to hire a Business Analyst Intern to join our Filings Team responsible for Canary’s rate, rule and form filings. The position is six months long and includes training throughout, during which time the intern will be able to learn the ins and outs of working at Canary and on Actuarial filing projects. There is potential for full-time after the completion of the 6 month internship, however it is not guaranteed.

Job Responsibilities
·        Prepare rate and form filings, across all lines of business, for submission with state regulators.
·        Use existing actuarial models for rate filing support
·        Assist in the development of insurance products – Includes creating the rate and rule manuals, as well as providing input on pricing.
·        Communicate with colleagues and Insurance regulators to identify problems and research solutions
·        Occasionally assist in the review of peers' work, correcting errors and maintaining consistency
 
Required Skills and Experience:
·        Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment – IMPORTANT!
·        A senior nearing graduation (no later than Dec 2021) from an accredited 4-year program or recently graduated (2018 or later). Many majors will be considered, including but not limited to Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, and Statistics.
·        Excellent computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus).
·        Detail oriented and highly organized
·        Strong problem solving, time management and multitasking skills.
 
Preferred Experience:
·        1-2 year(s) professional work experience
·        Experience in an insurance related field
·        Bachelor’s degree in Economic, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
·        Experience with querying, data regression, R or SQL
