The IUPUI Graduate Office and the Office of Academic Affairs are seeking a self-motivated current IUPUI graduate/professional student with an interest in mentoring to serve as a Graduate Assistant for a grant project entitled “Midwest Experiences in Mentoring Excellence.”

The graduate assistant will work closely with the assistant dean (Graduate Office) and the associate vice chancellor for faculty diversity and inclusion (Academic Affairs) to develop a comprehensive online mentoring resources toolkit in support of grant activities related to faculty mentoring and culturally responsive mentorship.

Additional responsibilities may include marketing and promotions and working with designated partnering institutions. Attention to detail and superior communications skills are mandatory.

Primary duties include:
  • Researching and compiling best practices in faculty mentoring and culturally responsive/aware mentorship in STEM
  • Designing and developing online toolkit in collaboration with website personnel
  • Collaborating with and soliciting feedback from university leaders associated with the grant project
  • Developing a dissemination/distribution plan for the online toolkit
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Duration: A spring appointment of ~15-20 hours per week will begin on or before March 1st.

Continuation to a summer appointment of ~10 hours/week and/or fall appointment of ~15-20 hours/week will be determined based on exemplary completion of job responsibilities and quality of work produced.
