Operations Team Member

General Purpose:

The Operations Team Member is responsible for set-up and teardown of furniture and technology equipment for meetings and events held within the IUPUI Campus Center. Additionally, the assist Campus Facility Services (CFS) with the general upkeep of the facility.





Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Event & Meeting Setup

  • Set-up and teardown of the meeting and event rooms as outlined by a set-up worksheet and room diagram
  • Set-up and teardown associated technology for all events and meetings in the Campus Center
  • Provide support during events including last-minute changes and AV troubleshooting
  • Ensure proper care, movement, and storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, cables, speakers, etc.
  •  Maintain a daily understanding of events taking place in the building in order to assist with daily management

Customer Service

  • Provide high quality customer service to all clients and guests
  • Unlock meeting rooms and greet clients at arrival
  • Provide basic AV instruction to clients
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to find creative solutions that work for both the client and Campus Center

Other

  • Maintain facility cleanliness by routinely wiping down tables and chairs in meeting rooms and public areas of the Campus Center during scheduled Hospitality shifts
  • Work special event shifts as needed
  • Attend AV 1:1 meetings with AV Event Technicians and/or Senior Coordinator for Facilities and Technical Services as needed
  • Attend all area team and all-team meetings and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Candidates must have at least a 2.0 cumulative IUPUI GPA, or a first semester, first-year student, and be in judicial good standing at the time of application
·        Undergraduate candidates and staff members must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, and graduate candidates and staff members must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours.

·        Ability to troubleshoot various issues and concerns with technology
·        Adapting event and meeting spaces when issues and concerns arise from clients or Campus Center professional staff
·        Consulting with other staff members to handle any challenges that may arise on shift
