POSITION TITLE
Student Success Ambassador (SSA) – Purdue School of Engineering & Technology Student Services Office
 
ORGANIZATION PROFILE
Located on the first floor of the Technology Building (ET) in ET101, the Student Services Office is home to Scholarships, Recruitment and Retention, Career Services, Advising and the Engineering and Technology Student Council.

Our offices act as a resource for current and future Engineering and Technology students who need assistance with obtaining scholarships, navigating the application process, or wishing to gain practical experience and ultimately a career in their field of study. These are just a few of the services offered.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Student Services Office of Purdue School of Engineering and Technology is seeking candidates to act as a Student Success Ambassador (SSA). This person works under the direction of our Student Services Support Specialist and is an important part of the Student Services Team. 

Primary duties include but are not limited to:
·       Complete special project work in the areas of career services, advising, recruitment, 3-D printing, web editing and social media management (50%)
·       Serve as receptionist (Ensure mail is collected, answer questions for visitors and those on the phone, make appointments for staff) (25%)
·       Present information on our student services to current and prospective students (15%)
·       Attend and manage Engineering and Technology events (10%)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Student Services seeks an energetic, motivated team oriented individual with the below skills:
·       Currently enrolled in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology
·       One year work experience (minimum)
·       Has been given a Work Study Award (preferred)
·       Working knowledge of excel and word
·       Familiarity working with 3-D printers
·       Ability to lift 20 pounds and hang posters
·       Strong work ethic, willingness to embrace our organization and an interest in helping students
·       Interest in interacting with students and professional staff
·       Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
·       Ability to think logically 
·       Ability to take initiative with a willingness to learn new things
·       Strong verbal and written communication skills

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
All positions within the Student Services Office are paid based on skill and experience level. This position will be expected to work 10 hours a week and will be paid up to $10.50 an hour. Hours assigned will be based on office hours and student availability. Office Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

The student will learn many skills including:
