Are you detail-oriented, curious, and eager to make a meaningful impact in public service? The Internal Audit Division within the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services is seeking a mid-level Auditor II to join our team. 

This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn, grow and expand your current skills in the auditing field while helping ensure compliance, transparency, and efficiency within public programs. Reporting directly to the Internal Audit Director, who reports to the Commission, this role is a key contributor in safeguarding the public interest.


Responsibilities

As an Auditor II, you will:

  • Conduct audits under close supervision while receiving mentoring.
  • Focus on reviewing compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as performing random audits of cash handling and inventory processes.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of operational performance, document findings, assess risk, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Play a vital part in promoting accountability and operational integrity across various programs and departments.

 

Minimum Requirements
 

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in fundamental mathematical concepts and understand numerical analysis.
  • Technologically fluent with proficiency in mobile technology, including laptops and cellular phones.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities utilizing logical reasoning and creative approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting governance including statute, rules, regulations and internal policies.
  • Keenness to acquire new knowledge and accept training.
  • Frequent in-state travel, including occasional overnight accommodations, with potential travel up to 50%.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • 21 years of age or older.

 

Preference(s)
 

  • Preference may be given to those with a certification in accounting, auditing, or fraud.
  • Preference may also be given to those with knowledge of auditing processes, what constitutes an audit finding and knowledge of fraud basics.
  • Previous auditing experience preferred.
