Drainage Designer
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Drainage Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various surveying projects by utilizing advanced software and technical skills. This position requires proficiency in drafting and design, along with a strong understanding of mechanical design principles. The Survey Technician will collaborate with engineers and other professionals to create accurate schematics and models that meet project specifications.
Position Overview
As a Drainage Designer, you will be a key contributor in producing accurate and high-quality survey deliverables. You will be responsible for translating field-collected data into comprehensive CAD drawings for a wide variety of project types including:
- Boundary and Topographic Surveys
- ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
- Subdivision Plats
- Construction Layout & Staking
- Terrestrial LiDAR & UAV/Drone Surveys
- Structural Monitoring
Your role includes analytical data review, QA/QC of deliverables, and adherence to CAD standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce CAD drawings for Boundary, Topographical, and Subdivision surveys
- Interpret construction drawing sets for layout/stakeout
- Review and implement field crew notes and redlines
- Create and manage 3D CADD models
- Ensure compliance with company and client-specific CAD standards
- Maintain document quality, clarity, and consistency
- Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers for efficient project execution
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- CAD/Drafting certificate or Associate Degree in Design Technology preferred
- 1 to 5+ years of experience in survey or civil drafting
Technical Skills:
- Proficient with Autodesk Civil 3D and Carlson Survey
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with survey data post-processing software a plus
- Familiarity with Trimble Business Center and Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads is desirable
- Experience in 3D Modeling is an advantage

$26-$40/hour depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour
