Everyone at the office is great. Learning how to do new things and work on projects is very easy with the support of the staff.

Organization is key; if you're not organized, you can become overwhelmed.
Advice
Just take it one day at a time! Plan ahead, make to-do lists, and ask questions when you need help.

Undergraduate research is a great opportunity for anyone interested in any type of science field. Students from pre-med backgrounds to environmental science backgrounds can take advantage of it. Additionally, it’s up to the student how far they want to take it. I personally presented at a national conference this summer, I know of others who simply volunteered in labs, and others who have presented at the Undergraduate Research Symposium (UGS) and gone on to work in another lab to diversify their experiences. A unique and flexible experience that I would highly recommend every undergraduate student take advantage of.

Ambassador/Check-in Team Work Study

What I liked
Having a leadership role for the first time. Getting paid to exercise on ambassador shifts, and to do homework on check-in desk shifts. The pay rate was above average for work-study positions. The word "Ambassador" and the phrase "Leadership Role" will look fantastic on my resume.
What I wish was different
I could always use more hours and higher pay.
Advice
Be as attentive and observant as possible.
Leadership roles require a delicate balance between authoritativeness and leniency.

I wish that I didn't have to do my student teaching during covid. It's been really hard not to have a consistent schedule.

Just show up and do your very best every day, don't be afraid to ask for help or advice. That is what your CT is for! You got this!
