The Forest Service, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), is the Nation’s foremost Federal forestry organization and world leader in forest research, providing leadership in the management, protection, use, and stewardship of natural and cultural resources on our country’s forests and grasslands. In addition to caring for national forests and grasslands in 43 States and Puerto Rico, our employees work closely with Tribes and many other Federal, State, and local partners, providing technical and financial assistance for other lands. Our mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation’s forests and grasslands to meet the needs of present and future generations.
We are looking for candidates to work seasonal positions in areas such as firefighting and reducing fuels in the forest, constructing and maintaining trails, working in archeology and engineering, or helping manage recreation, wilderness, or range areas or wildlife and fisheries. We are also hiring young technicians and professionals in technical fields, as well as in budget, finance, contracting, human resources, civil rights, and more. A job with us will have a real impact.
